SPQR is Melbourne's new go-to for traditional, Neapolitan wood-fired Pizza. Working with a wood-fired oven hand-made by an Italian family based in Thomastown, SPQR caters to both sit-down diners as well as serving pizza by the slice all day and in to the night for party goers. Toppings are limited but classic (think a light, deliciously blistered sourdough base dripping with mozzarella and sprinkled with olives, anchovies, prosciutto, fresh herbs and other assorted bits of goodness).
The extra good news? SPQR will be hosting small-group pizza masterclasses out of their kitchen on the second Saturday of every month beginning in February, 2017. Participants will learn everything including how to source the right flour, how to get the most out of your domestic oven and of course how to achieve that perfect sourdough base.
