Some years ago Chris Terlikar embarked on an 8-week barbecue pilgrimage around Texas, a trip that ended up transforming his own cooking style. Guided by barbecue kings, Tom Micklethwaite and Evan LeRoy, Chris joined the 18 hour sessions to make the perfect brisket and in the process fell hook, line and sinker for southern style barbecue techniques that he now considers a labour of love.
Determined to bring the art of barbecue back to Australia, Chris returned to Melbourne to open Bluebonnet Barbecue, a venue that pays homage to the traditional barbecue techniques he feels so privileged to have learned in the US.
Having recently relocated to a new site in Fitzroy North, Chris is ready to share his knowledge with fellow barbecue aficionados, making use of the new venue’s private dining room to offer a barbecue masterclass.
Participants will be guided through how to achieve the perfect slow-barbecued brisket at home along with how to make delicious sausages from scratch (so much better than the store-bought stuff). Following the demonstration guests will settle by the in-house wood fire and recharge with a sit-down signature Bluebonnet barbeque lunch matched with beers from Stone & Wood Brewing Company.
Masterclass includes: 1.5-hour barbecue masterclass, a sit-down shared style barbecue lunch and matched beers from Stone & Wood Brewing Company.
Minimum group size of 8 people required.
